St Kieran Catholic Primary School in Tuart Hill has honoured the memory of Sally Hart, the school’s Assistant Principal who passed away earlier this year, with a donation to Wheelchairs for Kids Australia.
The school’s $1,500 donation, with additional support from parent body Kieran Connect, means five children in Malawi living with a disability will receive wheelchairs, giving them life-changing mobility.
Each chair features a memorial plaque in remembrance of Ms Hart, placed by her husband and former colleagues.
Ms Hart was known as a passionate advocate for children with disability.
Acting Principal, Anthony Davis said:
“St Kieran Catholic Primary School has proudly honoured the life and legacy of beloved teacher and Assistant Principal Sally Hart with a donation to Wheelchairs For Kids, supporting children in need in Malawi which will provide them access to the wonderful gift of education.
“Sally, a dedicated and faith-filled educator for 30 years, was a passionate advocate for inclusive education. She believed every child deserved the opportunity to participate fully, inspiring the school’s partnership with Wheelchairs For Kids. In 2026, this vision came to life through the school’s first Wheel-a-thon, enabling all students to take part regardless of ability while raising funds for the charity.
“For the St Kieran community, this gesture reflects Sally’s enduring commitment to inclusion, compassion, and opportunity for all. Her legacy will continue to make a difference not only within the school, but in the lives of children around the world.”
