South West Career Expo gives students peak into world of work

Bunbury Catholic College has once again hosted the South West Career Expo, delivered by the College’s Careers & VET team.

2,400 students from 21 schools, along with 600 members of the public, registered to attend the Expo which has been held for the past 16 years.

“Heaps of options, helps you really decide with people that are qualified in what they are doing. Helps you make decisions and guides you in a pathway that will help you find a career,” said Riley, a Year 10 student from Our Lady of Mercy College.

Ellie, a Year 10 student at St Mary MacKillop College in Busselton added:
“The expo has given me more information on different career pathways I could take. Given me a little bit more options, like careers I could go for, like more a selection. I am enjoying science at the moment, so looking forward to something in Science.”

“The school has given us information on different subjects we can take to get to where we want to go to.”

Bunbury Catholic College Principal, Ben Priest said:

“Our role in schools is to prepare our students to be able to take the next step, whatever that is. Our real success is not on the grades achieved but on the young men and women we help find their meaning and happiness post school. Having a careers focus at school helps students have meaning and purpose during their senior secondary journey.”
