Our Lady’s Assumption School in Dianella played host to 78 Year 6 students from 8 CEWA primary schools on 22 April.
The Gifted and Talented students came together to take part in a series of challenges based around boosted learning particularly in STEM.
The challenges included a STEM Building Challenge, Escape Room, Logical Thinking Games and Rubix Cubes.
Those schools taking part included Holy Rosary
School in Doubleview, ; Our Lady of Good Counsel School in Karrinyup, Our Lady of Grace School in North Beach, Our Lady’s Assumption School in Dianella, St John Paul II Catholic Primary School in Banksia Grove, St Luke’s Catholic Primary School in Woodvale, St Paul’s Primary School in Mount Lawley, and St Peter’s Primary School in Inglewood.
“I really enjoyed getting the chance to visit a different school and see how they do things, because it was exciting to experience learning in a new place,” said Ilaria.
“Even though the challenges were tricky, they made sense and it felt amazing when we worked together and finally figured them out,” Ilaria added.
“One of my absolute favourite parts of the day was the escape rooms because they were so fun and made us think hard while also keeping us active,” said Lacey.
“Although we felt nervous at the beginning about not being with our friends, it was awesome to see students from different schools working together and supporting each other,” said Stella.
