Sharon Davis, CEWA’s Aboriginal Education Team Leader, has recently been appointed to the boards of both Reconciliation Australia and Reconciliation WA.   

Ms Davis, who has qualifications in education and linguistics, is from both Bardi and Kija Peoples of the Kimberley region, and has been leading the Aboriginal Education Team since joining CEWA in 2015, a role with responsibility for Aboriginal education strategies and programs at a system level, including the Aboriginal Education Improvement Mapping initiative. 

“I am really excited about joining the boards of Reconciliation Australia and Reconciliation WA; I feel like I can make a valuable contribution to these two groups with my personal and professional experiences,” she said. 

“Both organisations have an important part to play in working towards the realisation of a just society for all in Australia.” 

Ms Davis also brings her experience working with Reconciliation Action Plans (RAP) to the board positions, having supported CEWA schools engaging in the Narragunnawali program, and being appointed as co-chair of the Reconciliation Action Plan governance group for the CEWA offices in 2018.
