Outgoing Executive Director reflects on La Salle connection

La Salle College in Middle Swan were joined by CEWA’s Executive Director, Wayne Bull for Make a Difference (MAD) Day.

MAD Day is the College’s day to celebrate the legacy of their founder St John Baptist de La Salle and how they belong and participate in his legacy in Middle Swan.

Wayne has a long and deep connection to the College which was celebrated as he enters his final term with Catholic Education WA.

Helping the College celebrate, Wayne joined students and staff for the Day, including attending Mass with the College.

After Mass, students rolled up their sleeves to run a variety of stalls and activities to raise funds. This was followed by La Salle’s Got Talent where many students took to the stage to show their amazing music and dance skills.

Reflecting on the day Wayne said:

“It was an absolute honour and privilege to visit La Salle College – a school that I led as principal for 12 years and also attended as a student.

“The school’s Lasallian charism is very close to my heart and the Lasallian call to “touch hearts, teach minds and transform lives” is one that resonates so strongly with the vision and mission of Catholic education. I congratulate and thank Giovanna Fiume as she concludes her time as principal of La Salle.

“I wish all students and staff every success and happiness into the future as they continue to learn and work in a Catholic school centred on Christ and inspired by St John Baptist de La Salle.”

Mr Bull concludes his tenure as CEWA’s Executive Director on Friday 4 July 2025.
