Notre Dame student unites peers in prayer

Notre Dame Catholic Primary School, Year 6 Charmian is witnessing her faith through the organisation of a prayer meeting.

Having sought approval from Principal, Darryl Winsor, Charmian made up some great posters that she displayed around the school with her first session attended by twenty-six students.

Br Stephen was on hand to assist but Charmian’s skill, sensitivity, and insight was enough to drive the success of the initiative.

Charmian said:
“I went to see our principal to ask to do this in the multi-purpose room and was absolutely thrilled when he said he loved the idea.

“I wanted to create a space where people can come and feel safe to share whatever troubles they might be going through. A place where students can embrace God and pray over anything as some people might feel the need to hide their strong faith from others.

“The very first session, we had 26 people, and we had others willing to pray. We’ve seen many different people, and I am incredibly grateful to the Notre Dame leadership team for granting me the opportunity to spread faith to others.”
