Nagle Catholic College young writers triumph at regional Randolph Stow Young Writers’ Award.

Nagle Catholic College’s writing culture is continuing to inspire creative writers to explore a range of topics through the powerful form of poetry and prose.

The regional Randolph Stow Young Writers’ Award encourages young writers in the art of creative writing, celebrating innovation and creativity.

Nagle dominated most of the high school categories with numerous students honoured in the awards, including the esteemed Pat Gallaher Encouragement Award and Hon Sandra Carr MLC Emerging Young Writer Scholarship.

Lower Secondary Poetry

1st – Nate (Year 8) for Not-a-ballad

HC – Digby (Year 8) for My Lungs

Lower Secondary Prose

2nd – Mac (Year 8) for I’m Too Tired Though

HC – Blake (Year 7) for My Moment

Middle Secondary Poetry

2nd – Aimy (Year 9) for Ode to Mi Goreng Noodles

3rd – Kodey (Year 9) for Ode to Gnara/oo

HC – Addisyn (Year 9) for Apologies

HC – Miley (Year 10) for Death

HC – Lucie (Year 10) for Worries Washed Away

Middle Secondary Prose

HC – Olivia (Year 10) for Reality of Growing UP

HC – Coen (Year 10) for The English Essay

HC – Jada (Year 10) for Addicted Today, Addicted Tomorrow, but Maybe not Forever

Jada also received the Hon Sandra Carr MLC Emerging Young Writer Scholarship – Upper Secondary

HC – Shrinithi (Year 12) for Honey Sweetened

HC – Aislinn (Year 11) – Anatomy of a Ghost

Ella also received the Pat Gallaher Encouragement Award.

 

City of Greater Geraldton Library said
