Make A Difference Day at La Salle College

25 May 2017

On Friday 12 May, La Salle College held their annual festivities for Make A Difference Day (MAD). 64 Pastoral care groups came together to sell food and drinks, and partake in activities to raise money for LifeLink, Catholic Caring Agencies, Lasallian Foundation and St Vincent De Paul.

The event started in 1963 and is now well and truly an annual tradition at La Salle College, with the fundamental objective being to serve people in need, in the words of John Baptist de La Salle serving the least, lost and last.

A highlight from the day was students meeting Perth Wildcat basketball players Mason Briggs and Dexter Kernich-Drew, they were able to get photos and autographs as mementos of the experience. Also bringing excitement to the day was the La Salle‘s Got Talent showcase in the afternoon, where students had the opportunity to present their hidden talents on stage. Crowd favourite was the Year 12 boys’ band The Believers, with the Judges’ choice being Year 7 student Luke Paxman.

Other activities throughout the day included a handball competition, Weetbix challenge, photo booth, Zorb ball, abseiling, dunking machine, book stall and popcorn stalls.
