Former John XXIII College student, Xavier Henderson is emerging as the next Australian star in motorsport, after being one of only five drivers across the world to be selected to test with the Jaguar TCS Racing Formula E team in London.
He began riding a 50cc Sherco MotoTrials bike at age five, progressing to a factory 300cc Sherco bike in his early teens, before his father guided him into four wheels via 125cc water-cooled karting and Formula Ford.
Xavier, who graduated from John XXIII College in 2023, said the opportunity to test with a team of this calibre as one of only five drivers in the world is a dream come true.
“It’s amazing to have this kind of opportunity and it makes all the years of training and dedication worth it,” Xavier said.
“I have a lot to prove, still, but this is an incredible opportunity and one I’ve been dreaming about for years.”
“I’ve been around motorsport since I was very young, obviously watching my dad who won 12 consecutive formula car championships when he was driving,” he added.
“It’s in my blood, for sure and I’m just really excited about the opportunities that are opening up. I can’t wait to see where it takes me, and I’m looking forward to proving what I can do.”
Xavier has recently been signed by Aussie motorsport legend Marcos Ambrose. His testing opportunity caps off a breakout rookie season in the Australian Formula Ford Duratec Championship, positioning him alongside past Australian motorsport stars Daniel Ricciardo and Oscar Piastri as the country’s next driver to watch.
