Promising young footballers from Irene McCormack Catholic College and Servite College came together for a day on the pitch last week under the umbrella of the Liverpool Football Club International Academy (LFC IA).
The two colleges, who are part of the LFC IA met in Butler, showcasing the talents nurtured under the Academy, which has been running at both schools this year.
This exciting showcase saw approximately 70 students from each school, participating in a day of friendly competition, skill development, and community engagement.
Cordelia, Year 10 at Irene McCormack Catholic College said ahead of the day:
“I’m super excited to be part of Liverpool Legends Day and to meet Daniel Gavin and Kevin Grima from the Liverpool Academy. I’m proud to represent the College in our match against Servite!”
Jack, also Year 10, added
“I’m really looking forward to the tournament and proud to showcase our College in front of the Liverpool FC International Academy representatives!”
Andrew Billingsley, Principal at Irene McCormack Catholic College said:
“It was great to welcome Servite College to our College and see the array of footballing talent on display today, with students showcasing the skills they have gained as a result of this incredible partnership with Liverpool FC International Academy.
“Events like this build connection, encourage growth through sport, and highlight the vibrant spirit of our community.
“The Academy has proved enormously popular with current and prospective parents. We are delighted to have built this partnership with a club whose values are strongly aligned with those of our College.
