Finalists in the 2017 Western Australian Young Achiever Awards have been selected, including Catholic Education Western Australia’s Young Leadership Award category.

The 2017 Awards will culminate with a Gala Presentation Dinner on 12 May, where guests will have the opportunity to hear about the finalists and their work,  before the winners are announced.

Congratulations to the following CEWA Young Leadership Award finalists:

• Bridie Ritchie
• Jennifer Edwards
• Regan O’Callaghan 
• Theadosia Kurniawan

Bridie’s Ritchie’s entrepreneurial spirit has resulted in her co-founding the youth-led, not-for-profit Dismantle in 2010 and from there, co-founding and managing the social enterprise Sprout Ventures in 2013. Bridie has actively built her leadership capacity through ongoing learning and development at a local, national and international level.

Jennifer Edwards coordinates the Child and Parent Centre in Rangeway, Geraldton, as well as demonstrating leadership in many other leadership capacities. Judges have described Jennifer as demonstrating dedication, passion, and leadership beyond her years.

Regan O’Callaghan has exemplified outstanding personal, school and community leadership in the face of great adversity due to injury and sickness. Regan is described as a vibrant, enthusiastic and compassionate leader in all that she does.

Theadosia Kurniawan has held leadership positions such as Head Girl of St Hilda’s Junior School and Vice President of Student Leadership of Binus International School in Jakarta, Indonesia. Among many other initiatives, Theadosia’s commitment to leading positive change presents her as an outstanding candidate.
