St Luke’s College students win Education Perfect English Championships

17 August 2017

Students from Years 7 to 10 at St Luke’s College in Karratha recently took out top spot for their category in the Education Perfect English Championships, which ran from 24 to 31 July 2017.

The students had the week to amass as many points as possible by completing English tasks, racking up an impressive 48,674 points, enough to beat 28 WA schools in their category, placing 5th overall in WA, 23rd overall in Australia (out of 745 schools) and 42nd globally.

The win came as a result of over 293 collective hours spent on 70,000 English skills tasks. Sixteen St Luke’s students received award certificates for their role in the College’s competition performance.

The competition consisted of teacher-set online tasks focusing on learning, revision and assessment of English skills. Incorrectly answered questions were explained and retested to promote better understanding and reinforce learning.
