LifeLink hearts displayed on the lawns of St Mary’s Cathedral

30 June 2017

Earlier this month we shared with you the incredible display of 40,000 handmade hearts on the grounds of Newman College. Featuring drawings and messages of support from Catholic Education Western Australia primary school students, the hearts signified community members who have been helped though LifeLink agencies in Western Australia each year.

On Saturday, 17 June students joined The Most Reverend Timothy Costelloe SDB, Archbishop of Perth, and community members to spread the hearts across the lawns of St Mary’s Cathedral where they were displayed for the week leading up to celebration of the Feast of the Sacred Heart on Friday, 23 June.

Parishioners and visitors to the Cathedral were able to share in the beautiful display and read the children’s messages of love to those in need.

In what have been two very successful launches for both primary and secondary schools, we look forward to seeing how our school communities continue to support the work of LifeLink and affiliated agencies throughout 2017 and into the future.
