Shawn Billam, former Irene McCormack Catholic College student and successful Perth Glory Women’s player, has joined the College Soccer Academy Coaching staff.

After graduating from Irene McCormack Catholic College in 2009, Shawn went on to complete her Physical Education teaching degree. She has since had great success in her soccer career, playing for Perth Glory in the 2016/17 season and scoring an excellent goal in Glory’s semi-final against Sydney in January.

This year, Shawn will bring her valuable knowledge to the College, joining the staff as Physical Education teacher. She will be teaching Soccer Academy classes and coaching teams in the inter-school soccer competitions. Associated with the Edith Cowan University Sport Science faculty, the College’s soccer program runs for boys and girls in Years 7-12, with a VET Certificate offered for the Year 11 and 12 course.

The Soccer Academy is looking forward to having Shawn on board.
“We welcome Shawn to the College Soccer Academy and look forward to her skills and experience assisting the development of the Soccer Academy students” said Mr Damian Stefanoff, Soccer Academy Coordinator.

Catholic Education WA is always proud to hear about the success of former students, and would like to welcome Shawn back to the Catholic education system as a fantastic role model to students, and a wonderful example of what can be achieved with hard work and dedication.
