Emmanuel student has book published

21 March 2019

At just 12 years of age, Emmanuel Catholic College student Nicholas Goodin has become a published author.

Nicholas started writing his book, The Great Race of Kakadu, back in 2015 when he was a Year 4 student at Mater Christi Catholic Primary School.

As part of an extension class, Nicholas had been tasked with writing a story for children with fictional characters that included facts about animals

The result of the assignment was a story about Elliot the Emu and his animal friends.

For the last two years, Nicholas has been working with Austin Macauley Publishers to perfect the layout and artwork of his book ready for publishing.

“It has been an exciting journey. I have really enjoyed learning the process of how a book is published, it’s been really fascinating,” he said.

He is now working on his next book and plans to continue writing to produce a series of books featuring Elliot the Emu and his friends.

The Great Race of Kakadu is available for purchase via the Austin Macauley website.
