CEWA educators share Collaborative Project learning through Showcase

Catholic schools and colleges from across the state met recently to share their experiences in a showcase for CEWA’s ongoing Collaborative Project.

The Collaborative Project Showcase ran over two days in Perth and Geraldton, and included workshops with renowned education researcher and author Dr Lyn Sharratt. Dr Sharratt has supported the project over the last three years, via Skype meetings and workshops in person twice a year.

The focus of the Showcase was on the successes and challenges Catholic school educators had experienced since the Collaborative Project began, with staff presenting evidence on what outcomes they had observed for students and schools as changes to practice were implemented. CEWA schools that had not yet been involved in the Collaborative Project were invited to join the discussions.

As part of the showcase, schools in the Geraldton Diocese opened their classrooms to colleagues to learn about their context.

Dr Sharratt also spoke on the topic of What successful schools do to improve literacy outcomes for all at an Australian College of Educators event hosted at the Catholic Education Centre alongside the Showcase.
