Carnevale heads to Bunbury for the first time

Bunbury will be treated to a day-long showcase of music, singing and dance when the Catholic Education Carnevale rolls into town on Thursday 19 September at the Graham Bricknell Shell and Bicentennial Square.
More than 500 students from nine South West primary and secondary schools, along with three schools travelling from Perth, will this year perform at Carnevale.
Maria Locantro, who works with Catholic Arts to put on the annual event, said it was the first time Carnevale was being held in Bunbury rather than its regular Perth CBD location.
“Given it’s the Catholic Arts Performing Arts Festival’s 30th anniversary, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to showcase our regional schools,” she said.
The students will take to the stage in 30 music, choral, dance and theatre performances throughout the day, and several schools will also have interactive displays on site spanning science and engineering, art and even an interactive Harry Potter experience and Mission to Mars display.
